The owners of this substantial 1930s detached home wanted to update and rationalise the kitchen.
Previously a small galley space with adjacent scullery, pantry and utility room, the space was opened up to create a light filled open plan kitchen with a concealed utility cupboard and banquette seating.
New Crittall French doors and windows have been installed to open up the space to the secluded garden and pool accessed via a new decked patio.

Rather than simply replacing the kitchen, the project reorganised a collection of smaller service rooms into one coherent, light-filled family space. The former galley kitchen, scullery, pantry and utility areas were opened up while practical storage was retained within a concealed utility cupboard.
Crittall-style French doors and windows strengthen the visual and physical connection to the secluded garden, pool and new decked patio. Banquette seating makes efficient use of the remodelled plan and creates an informal place to gather within the kitchen.
