The extension will seamlessly blend with the existing farmhouse, creating a spacious and modern living space that accommodates a new kitchen, dining area, and utility space. The design also includes a significant expansion of the living area, creating an inviting and functional environment perfect for both family living and entertaining.
The approved proposal treats the new accommodation as a contemporary continuation of the existing farmhouse. Its 75sqm footprint brings the principal kitchen, dining and utility functions together while substantially increasing the space available for everyday family living and entertaining.
Set near Chailey in the Sussex countryside, the extension was developed to work with the character and setting of the farmhouse while giving the new living areas a clear modern identity. This is Stewart Nicholson Architects’ second collaboration with the client’s design professional.
